Day 153: Somebadeeeee!
We’re one less person in our trio today. One less biritera, kulutera and second voice. It didn’t stop me and Faye singing though. For today, we’ve been singing a mash-up mash-up-an of our recent LSSs.
Day 152: Wendy’s Macaroni Salad
Ever since I’ve tasted that deym fries, I’m craving for some Wendy’s loving. I grabbed my officemates to the nearest Wendy’s in Ayala, at Glorietta 4. We had to take a jeep though. We’ve allotted at least 2 hours for lunch.
Red Shoes
It’s Denise’s last day at the office today. And she wore her red shoes for it. Actually, she’s been wearing that for a week now.

Day 151: Porkchop
Had a hard time looking for something to eat for lunch. Twice I’ve reconsidered eating something from the mezzanine cafeteria but found no appetite for another batch of siomai-rice. Convenient store meals had no appeal either. And I think I don’t wanna see any jollyjeep food for a while. I’m slowly losing my appetite. Maybe it’s because of that expired dressing from the other day.

Day 150: Wendys
Was going down to the jeepney bay at Boni when I saw Wendys just across the street. I’ve passed by this store just the other day while looking for something to eat but found I’ve no appetite for anything from their menu that time. I walked out and never looked back. And now here I am again but this time with my mouth watering.
Adik sa Sting Strawberry. Can’t touch this! #pinoy #foodography (Taken with instagram)
Day 149: Frappe x Batirol
I’ve waited for the 50% off on Sbux Frappes for two weeks now. Last week I totally forgot about this, was already on the bus back home when Ai texted me. I scheduled to do this one with Denise today but unfortunately she had to go home after lunch. At least she left after letting me taste her specially home made chocolate binatirol
Day 148: Rewrite
I woke up late and started typing up something. I went down when I got hungry. Yikes, these are the days when boredom strikes you. I still had to write two backblogs from Friday and Saturday. It took me another three hours to finish up writing. I slept an hour after that. Yikes, this day is not productive at all.

Day 147: Pasiklaban
Accenture’s Finance and Accounting BPO held its talent contest. I never intended to attend this event. I want my Saturday back. But sadly I HAVE to attend. Pamparami rin ng attendees. I hate to be part of statistics that does not define your personal choice.
Anyway, it was held at Crossroads 77 in QC. Whoever thought of holding an event in such an unknown, obscure, out-of-way place?! The hall is way down underground, you have to walk down two flights to get to it. I got there past 230 just in time for the first performance. Imagine, the promised to start it off around 1PM. Pinoy tlga.
Day 146: Cybergate Bijowke
Working at the client site would have its advantages, like larger production area and unlimited coffee and juice. But being outside company premises makes us outsiders from our own. Its sad really we don’t know much of our company-mates. But once in a while it’s good to visit the site at Cybergate.
Friday evening and I’ve already had dinner at home when I got a message from Denise asking me to come back to CG2. They were already singing when I got to the Recreational Center at 4/F CG2. The last time we came here there’s no mic available. Bring your own mic ang peg. It’s a good thing they’ve now provided a mic, not a new one but still it’ll do.

Yeah I really missed my Rockin’ Ruby from McDo, yah know the strawberry-Sprite-float. Of course, the relatively new milktea scene would never be far behind.

Faye kept singing Carlie Rae Jepsen’s Call Me, Maybe. I don’t want to sing along with her cause I know it has a bad reputation as an earworm. We kept singing the part, “boy you came into my life, I miss you so bad, I miss you so bad, I miss you so, so bad.”
That’s when I decided to change the song to Somebody that I Used to Know. Somebadeeeeee! This is one of the songs that I didn’t like at first but due to its hypnotic melody I got hooked. Budol budol much? Somebadeeeeee!
I find it quite fitting these songs came into mind. We miss Denise so bad, even though it’s just a day. We miss her so, so bad. Sana lang may load sya para she’ll call us, maybe? Choz. On the other hand, the issue around the “other friend”, we felt she’s somebody that we used to know. Somebadeeeee!
Funny thing is we kept mashing the two songs in an unexpected, pitchy kinda way. We miss you so, so bad! Somebadeeeeeee!](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4y1wrMAgn1qzgg90o1_1280.png)

It’s by the cinema level. Not crowded at all at lunchtime, which is quite uncommon. We were hoarding the counter trying to decide what to eat for lunch. I got in line last so I’d maximize all the time deciding.
I really wanted some bacon mushroom melt plus more and more fries. But Denise and Ai recommended the macaroni salad, which I took plus a small pack of fries and rootbeer for a total of 215 PhP. Overbudget again, boo! Greens for lunch, here we go. Hope I wouldn’t get hungry again after an hour.
The plastic container is not too small and not too big. Just right. The center of the plastic bowl is filled with macaroni salad, sided with lettuce, red jellies, cucumber, carrots, and cheese. They have this orangey dressing. I hope this one’s not expired. Choz!
Wow, I really love the macaroni. I mixed everything up then drizzled the dressing. They found me weird not eating the macaroni up first. I liked it all mixed up eh, like some dried up halo halo or somethang! I love the assortment of flavors you get when you do mix it. I was so full by the time I finished everything. Must be the pasta and cream that’s why.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4w7ilbMQl1qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)
![Red Shoes
It’s Denise’s last day at the office today. And she wore her red shoes for it. Actually, she’s been wearing that for a week now.

She’s supposed to report for work tomorrow. But things have changed earlier today. There had been a silent war between her and a colleaguel. I’ve never sided on any one side clearly but I wish I did.
It’s also Gilbert’s last day tomorrow. And they’re on the same team. Sad thing is that when their Team Lead scheduled to throw a despedida lunch, Denise’s the only one excluded. And even sadder is that it was the colleague who suggested to drop Denise’s name off the list. The Team Lead agreed readily knowing there had been a gap between the two. She clearly doesn’t know how to manage her people well. Had she known, she SHOULD have bridged the gap instead of widening it.
Denise was teary-eyed all the time she was telling me her story. It would break your heart how their story had since changed from being the closest of friends to this form of selfishness. I would have gone to the colleague to ask her to make amends. That was before, before I’ve learned of this mess she’d orchestrated.
Denise asked Faye what if she was in her shoes, in her red shoes, what would she have done? Faye might just cry from the hurt it would cause. Aileen would agree with that.
Thinking about it, I tried to place myself in her shoes, her red shoes. I might storm off and leave the rest of the day. Lin would agree with me. And I thought, I might actually explode being the ill-tempered me. I might have said some nasty words cause that would be me. I would not restrain myself in expressing my anger. You want war? I’ll give you war.”
But we’re not her. We could never know what she’s thinking. We could only feel. She’s calmed down now. She had a good counselor with Mark who’d prayed her over to commit to God the mistakes done upon her. And we’re very thankful for that.
She’ll find some peace now while healing and taking this rest. She promised she’ll first find a new house for her family around the Metro. Cause there’s no place like home. There’s no place like home.
I know I’d miss her. But I also know that I did not lose a friend. I knew I found one.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4w84gUG661qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)

We were heading for fastfood when I remembered I saw this small dry run kitchen next to a 7Eleven and a jollyjeep stand. We got there and they had a very small selection of food then. They’re on soft opening so I guess it’s aryt. Other local jollyjeepers are passing them by, might be they’re thinking they’re pricey. I thought of that the other day but promised I would try theirs one day.
And that’s today. I noticed the owner looks Middle Eastern, might be he’s also the chef. They only had four dishes: chicken tandoori, porkchops, steamed veggies, and tenderloin stew. The chicken tandoori looks tempting with its rich pink color. The tenderloin looks yummy but sad. Since I would only be trying their food, I picked the porkchops plus the fried rice instead of the regular white ones.
I had to reheat it twice when we got up to the 11/F pantry. I was surprised really cause I wasn’t expecting much from jollyjeep food. It’s very flavorful, you can taste the marinade seasoned with spices, onions and bell peppers. Reminds me of homemade porkchops my mom cooks over charcoal seasoned with just salt. You can taste more of the meat that way. Although preparation is completely different with this one, I can savor the pork. Is this Indian? I really love it. The fried rice was anything but spectacular.
I remember way back 2010 when I used to tweet daily my lunch at the office. Loser, I know. But some friends appreciate that, just reading food makes you crave for something. Cause if you won’t crave for anything you’d be stuck eating the same stuff over and over and over and over again. I wouldn’t want that.
Also, I take pictures of the food I eat. Loser again, I know. Hardcore photographers would laugh at that. I don’t mind. I’ve sunk into that jologz state where I MUST document every new food I taste. Who cares when I enjoy it. I enjoy eating, I enjoy photography. I enjoy foodography. This is my passion. This is my appetite.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4u8adv3wc1qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)

Actually I just want something salty, so I’m definitely having some of them fries. I got a large pack of their natural fries. Pakshett! It tastes like freshly sliced potatoes deep fried to perfection. I can still taste the skins fried along. You can never have too much potassium, right?
I got a teeny weeny serving of their Frosty. I’d get a larger scoop if it weren’t that pricey. I really love the mild chocolate flavor enough to cool my palate. It’s not sweet at all so it’s a yes for me. Wow, this takes me back to the late 90s when I could get a large scoop for only 20 pesos. Oh how time flies.
I checked-in via Foursquare before I got out. The mayor, my friend ate Yvette, got there 15 minutes after. Too bad I didn’t see her. But hopefully she gets the name of the cute server by the counter. Pakshett landi. hahah
I’m not sure where’s the nearest Wendy’s from our office. I got to have more of that Frosty, and Fries, and oh yes that salad too, and that Bacon Mushroom Melt as well. Plus that cute server. Choz!](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4sdt1ty0t1qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)

She said she bought a fresh batch of tsokonut instead of the usual tablea to make half a gallon of cocoa. She put it in a water container but with the brownish coloring it looks almost like a jug of bagoong. SRSLY. Well, we had to reheat via microwave as we don’t have something like a kettle or thermos. It took around 4 minutes to boil it.
I had to cool it down a bit so I wouldn’t burn my tongue. It tastes nutty but the bittersweet taste overpowers that. It’s not as frothy as you’d expect it when it is freshly made though. But still, a belly full of that plus some bibingka or seomthing would make me happy.

We were laughing so hard when I got Denise to describe what a batirol—the wooden mixer used to make this hot cocoa drink—looks like. She started on the length when I asked what the end looks like. Harold had to laugh and then greenyness started. She said the batirol has a large head with lots of wedges used for grinding. You don’t have to imagine much with that description.
Around 3:30ish, I went down with Ai looking for the least crowded Starbucks around. Standard Chartered got our vote, and since that’s the nearest one from our office. The line is moderately long and tolerable at most. I really wanted to try the new Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappe so when I got in front of the counter I asked if they have something less sweet than the regular batch. They put in “V” in syrup, which I’m not sure what that stands for. Vitter?
We had to endure waiting an hour before our orders got called. Well, it’s not as vitter as I’d expect. Should have gone for an extra shot of espresso. It’s too creamy for me to like really. And I couldn’t taste anything cookie-ish about it. Should’ve had my fave cafe mocha. Or at least my strawberries and cream. Well, the batirol made me happy though.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4qn1tdOwo1qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)

I know I still have some pending blogs for Multiply but that can wait. Without doing anything much other than writing, I’ve considered that blogging is my source of happiness today, sort of. But then, I couldn’t think of anything else to write after this. Ironic, isn’t it?
Just a quick flashback, I’ve been blogging for almost four years now. It started out at Multiply when I started going out with friends, or rather the first time I’ve made friends aside from those readily available classmates or officemates. I know, I’m not the friendly type but hey it was a big step for me back then.
Anyhoo, it started out by just describing what we did here or there, like an online journal I never had. Then I read some blogs here and there and I slowly copied over their style. Now I have this random sense of writing that I don’t know if anybody would care about to read. It doesn’t matter though. I’d still write something about it.
And since I’m feeling lazy now, I’ll just wrap things up. Just like that.

There were 11 groups who entered Galaw competition, at least a group per project. Our very own The Pokers won 2nd place. I didn’t imagine they were serious with this one but they surprised me when they performed something kinda ethnic. And I thought they would be doing their usual sexy comedy dance.
When it comes to favorites, I really liked team Karambola. They have synchronized moves. They used hiphop-like steps rather than using ballet-like, interpretative, or showtime production number used by the other groups.
The winners are:
2nd Runner-up - Karambola (Project Tahoe and Ethan)
1st Runner-up - The Pokers (Project Triumph)
Champion - Oozing (Project Oasis)
For the Himig competition, there were 12 finalists. We had Arlene Magbitang from our project who sang Stand Up for Love which she won when she joined GSS Got Talent from our client. I know she has a powerful voice but she tends to lose control at times especially when she moves the mic away from her. Sad she didn’t win anything but its aryt, I think she enjoyed the event.
My favorite performance would be Dannilyn from Project Oasis. She has a really powerful and controlled voice. Her singing is effortless. I wouldn’t know about the other contestants, but how were they able to come this far? I mean SRSLY, singing And I am Telling You is musical suicide if you don’t know how to control your voice. There were many kulots and heavy breathing involved I wonder how their diaphragms are after their performance. And it was sad hearing the 12 sing Just the Way You Are, they murdered the song. I’m sorry.
And the winners:
2nd Runner-up - Melvin Escalora (Project Soar)
1st Runner-up - Ros Dave Puyot (Project Oasis)
Champion - Rosalinda Bulatao (Project Matterhorn)](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4n362bctM1qzgg90o1_r2_1280.jpg)

Or something to that effect.
Siguro may nagtapon non with all the frozen laway laway and stuff sa ref. Anyways, shift ang scene sa lunchtime namin ni Carol. Two weeks na kasi nagdadamo si Carol. And by damo I mean veggie diet ang lola.
So there we were sitting by our favorite corner nang mamataan kami ni Lilet habang lumalunch. Something garlic and cheese yata.
It was exquisite! I can taste pesto in my mouth with an explosion of sweet-sour symphony. Like spices dancing in my tongue. Urteh! Pero pramis I really lurve it. Parang nagcomplement ang lettuce, tuna at gourmet dressing. Fannastic!
Tapos yung mukha lang nya parang sinasabi, “SRSLY!” Azzin. Tapos hinalungkat nya yung pridyider tapos pinakita samin. Eto po mamser?! sabi nya. Sabay ikot sa expiration date. 02/24/2012
Pakshett! Dapat sa ganyan di na pinalalampas ng one month, or one week, or one day pa siguro.
I’ve already tasted Cobo’s take on the strawberry flavored milk tea. The closest branch we visited is at Pacific Star’s Time Plaza. They had a very small stall in their cafeteria. The crew were accommodating, even with our japes they were game. Kuya kept rubbing his hand while taking my order. Denise asked if he’s married, he admitted he is and Denise immediately pointed out why he took his ring off. He said, unconvincingly, that it would contaminate the preparation. Nakakacontaminate din ba ng marriage yon choz.
I’m a bit disappointed with this one. It doesn’t taste sour at all which was expecting. In fact, it tastes sweet, too much for my liking. Like the strawberry flavor comes from some powdered strawberry milk drink. Bleck! The chewdles are good though.
In comparison, I liked Chatime’s version better. They have a new store in Megamall Bldg A ground floor. They have larger floor plan here compared to the confined spaces I’ve seen in Gateway and Landmark. They have plenty of coffee tables and cute purple and pink chairs around. It is well lit, too well that it seems to scorch the place. SRSLY! I’m not sure if it’s because of all those lights that seem to make the place hot, or the aircon not functioning well, or it’s just me arte-ing.
Service here is aryt, a bit slow but that’s to be expected. I feel it is the cashier’s duty to delay people on the counter. I asked for a some strawberry milk tea. I’ve asked about the strawberry chocolate one but got confused from Ate’s ekplaneyshowns. I asked her another question: why they call sinkers as toppings when it would normally sink. She got confused even more.
I got my order after some 15 to 20 minutes waiting. We sat on the couches without. Their strawberry milk tea is wow! Now this is what strawberries should taste like—like a symphony of sourness and sweetness and all the pearly chewy goodness in between. They even threw in bits of strawberries for added effect.
Might be I’ll be tasting other shops’ derivative of the strawberry. I will someday. Someday. Lezz get it on Serenitea, Happy Lemon, Gong Cha, Moonleaf and Sbux.](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4jc9srSQv1qzgg90o1_1280.jpg)
